The purpose of Lord Baden-Powell University of Scouting (LBPU) is to provide introductory, supplemental, and advanced training for ALL functions in the council and district related to commissioner service, membership, finance, and program for Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Venturing and Sea Scouting. Much of the specialization provided only at LBPU is the strength found in our offering this innovative curriculum.

Some courses meet training requirements for various awards, including Commissioner Arrowhead and Scouter's Key.  Courses offered address National, Regional, and Area programs of emphasis, local council concerns, and pertinent topics.  Certain courses are offered on a rotational basis.

Since 1990, LBPU has awarded over 1,800 non-accredited degrees, including more than 147 Doctoral Degrees and 69 Fellows of Scouting.
